Trident Freight Logistics is seeking a Logistics Coordinator in Surrey, BC to assist with all customer requests for Freight movement with a focus on managing, facilitating, and following time sensitive orders. This position requires negotiation skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to adapt to change daily. It is a very fast paced environment that changes daily in accordance to workload and volume.
Job Description
In this position, the successful candidate will:
- Improve and our approved carrier database.
- Obtain rate quotes from transportation resources.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and other vendors.
- Create tenders to process transactions, Dispatch and ensure on time pickup and delivery of each order.
- Work with CSR to ensure customers are up to date with their shipments.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in written communication with all vendors, customers, and internal resources.
- Provide sales team with regular updates on shipments.
- Other duties as required and/or assigned.

- Accurately inputs information into and retrieves from the computer. Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in new software applications as needed.

- Displays time management skills in relation to day-to-day duties.
- Demonstrates follow-up s kills on any issues and requests from customers or sales team.

Knowledge
- Identifies and resolves problems on a day-to-day basis.
- Knowledge in dry van, reefer, flatbed, and specialized freight transportation
- Demonstrates attention to detail when dealing with specific freight requirements.
- Strong aptitude for understanding and analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources.
- Knowledge of Windows a applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Communicates effectively in relation to the transportation industry.
Initiative/Leadership
- Identifies opportunities to increase accuracy and optimize resources and develops, recommends, and implements solutions.
- Prioritizes regular workload, special tasks, and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within an established time frame.
- Self-motivated and seeks out new assignments when finished with his/her own responsibilities.
- Identifies and fixes errors while motivating and helping others to improve their performance.
Teamwork
- Works with minimal supervision and within a Team Environment.
- Establishes and maintains effective, collaborative work relationships both internally and externally.
- Seeks out to assist team members with any outstanding work after his/her responsibilities have been completed.
Trustworthiness
- Required to occasionally work extended hours including weekends (Split out weekly among team)
- Performs day to day duties and goes above and goes above and beyond without supervision.
- Punctual while providing regular notice for absences and leaves.
