Department Overview
The Wealth Finance department has accountability for the major financial functions of TDBG’s Wealth Management business, providing business planning, financial measurement and analysis, valuation, and risk assessment services. The team works closely with the individual Wealth businesses (Direct Investing, Private Wealth Management, Financial Planning, Asset Management, Shared Services and Operations) and TDBG’s centralized financial areas of expertise (Chief Accountant’s Group, Performance Management & Insights, Enterprise Strategy & Decision Support, Finance Shared Services, etc.) to provide quality guidance and advice consistent with TDBG’s overall financial strategy and objectives.

Education and Accreditation
- University/College education with a focus on Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business
- Business and/or accounting designation (MBA/CFA/CMA/CGA/CA) would be an asset
- Minimum 5 – 8 years of relevant experience in finance

Job Description
The Wealth Advice Finance Manager will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning, and will support all aspects of the FP&A process for the FP business.
This role will be responsible for supporting the Financial Planning business through financial leadership and ensuring that balance growth and profitability strategies are planned and achieved. The successful candidate must have strong financial skills and a good understanding of accounting principles. Familiarity with TDBFG financial systems is an asset, as is experience in the Wealth Management industry.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Leading the quarterly forecasting, annual planning, and medium-term outlooks in support of TD Financial Planning while also finding opportunities to enhance surrounding processes
- Production and presentation of executive-level material to CFO, Wealth and VP of FP and responding to specific questions
- Conduct insightful, driver-based analysis of the FP business revenues, expenses, including FTE.
- Provide support to business leaders in developing strategic priorities and defining long-term business objectives while effectively communicating relevant and meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes
- Coordinate with various stakeholders across product, strategy, business development, contact centre and marketing to collect, analyze and compile forecast / budget information
- Take an active role in providing financial inputs and reviewing business cases and strategic initiatives as part of the Wealth Management project governance process.
- Effectively communicate relevant and meaningful recommendations on a range of finance management issues or related operational processes.
- Act as subject matter expert for own area. Provide guidance, advice, and recommendations to support dealings with internal and external partners.
- Active participation in Finance initiatives and pan-Wealth projects (where appropriate).
