Know our team

Nutrition International’s Corporate Services (CS) unit is a dedicated team of Finance and Administrative experts with extensive global experience. The unit leads on providing global Accounting, Finance, Budget, and Compliance, Contracting and Procurement, Facilities management, and Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT). Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for a Manager, Information Technology to be based in Ottawa, Canada.

About you

You are someone with 5 years of relevant experience and education in the fields of Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields. You have knowledge and demonstrable skill in executing or leading IT support for mid-sized organizations – experience supporting global teams would be desirable. You have extensive knowledge of IT assets and service administration, IT networks, IT security and data privacy frameworks, and cloud computing. You are skilled at IT change management and leadership. You have experience in delivering a variety of technical or non-technical projects from onset to implementation to ongoing support.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, Digital Transformation and Integration, the Manager, Information Technology is responsible for delivering reliable IT infrastructure, innovative IT projects, and client-oriented support to all of Nutrition International (NI). As Manager, Information Technology you will collaborate with the Manager, Information Governance, and the Senior Solutions Architect to develop and deliver on the shared strategic roadmap for IM/IT/IS.

You will be responsible for delivering highly scalable, flexible, resilient, secure, and cost-effective core IT infrastructure and a world-class IT support experience to aid Nutrition International in attaining its goals. You will support the organization’s digital growth, automation, and transformation by ensuring continuous innovation in IT and supporting delivery of IM and IS leadership’s goals.

As a leader within the IM/IT/IS team, you will be responsible for the ongoing management and growth of resources within the team and within your colleagues’ teams. Building a client-oriented, responsive, inclusive, and efficient team will require a willingness to share knowledge, coach other team members, and ensure our work is completed in a client-oriented and inclusive manner.

Duties and responsibilities include:

1. Information Technology Infrastructure & Team

  • Manage our global information technology function.
  • Manage our global IT asset lifecycle.
  • Enable and empower IM and IS leadership in their work by providing focused IT support to their projects and goals.
  • Act with an IT security and data privacy mindset.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and execute procurement business processes.
  • Standardize and maintain documentation related to core IT technology, security controls, and IT processes and policies.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and training to NI teams on using core IT technology.
  • Continuously monitor and plan for the evolution of our IT assets, core infrastructure, and IT services.

2. IM/IT/IS Strategy & Execution

  • Engage & build relationships with business unit stakeholders and Corporate Services leadership.
  • Collaborate with IM/IT/IS and Corporate Services leadership to develop, maintain and deliver on the multi-year IM/IT/IS Strategy.
  • Collaborate with IM and IS leadership on developing standards, policies, processes, and practices.
  • Contribute to global risk management by identifying and assessing risks related to the use of technology.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting cycle by forecasting IT asset & service requirements.

3. IM/IT/IS Leadership

  • Contribute to the IM/IT/IS team’s growth mindset, by sharing knowledge, coaching colleagues, and junior resources.
  • Contribute to an inclusive team environment by being cognizant of bias, curious about differences, courageous with feedback, and collaborative in our approach.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and training on IT technology and IT processes to IT resources in countries and regions, and onboard outsourced IT providers.
