About the Team Software Engineering (Applications) Mgmt: Directs the activities of a software applications development function for software application enhancements and new products. This position oversees the analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of computer programs for commercial or end user applications, such as materials management, financial management, HRIS, mobile apps or personal applications products (e.g., spreadsheets, tax packages, personal finance programs). Analyzes and investigates applications engineering tasks and prepares design specifications, analysis, and recommendations. Interacts with project managers, marketing, sales, and users to define application requirements and/or necessary modifications. May also have responsibility for testing and documentation. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel ensuring the efficient operation of the function. Survey Tip: Companies that develop applications software should match their positions to this family. Responsibilities:
Work with cross functional teams to deliver scalable, secure and reliable solutions
Actively engage with cross functional teams, PMs and other architects in requirements elaboration and drive technical solutions
Develop implementation plans and ensure delivery on time with high quality
Engage with users of the localization platform to ensure successful adoption of the platform
Ensure health and availability of developed services deployed across multiple regions
Lead design and implementation of localization platform and governance practices
Recruit, build and motivate top performing team
Mentor, guide and facilitate career development of individuals in the team
About You
Required Skills/Experience:
8+ years of relevant Localization and Translation industry experience
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Proven experience designing and developing high performance localization and translations systems
Minimum of 4 years experience in directly leading a team of engineers
Deep understanding of localization and translation systems with ability to think across layers of the stack
Experience working with technologies like Translation Management Systems (TMS), Python, Java, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Globalyzer, i18n libraries, ICU, Unicode
Experience in building, deploying and monitoring services on public cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Outgoing personality and open to discussions to brainstorm ideas and solve problems objectively with internal team members and across teams at senior and director levels
Nice to have:
Working knowledge and a good level of experience with data analysis and strong frontend design and implementation
Working knowledge and a good level of experience with Machine Learning algorithms and data processing
Working knowledge and a good level of experience with reporting tools and dashboarding for multiple stakeholder
