What we need:
You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to the delivery of high quality, patient focused interprofessional care. Your well developed leadership and critical thinking skills, coupled with a professional and strategic approach, will enable you to successfully coordinate services with the pharmacy team.
As the Manager, Pharmacy Services, you will be responsible for managing the Pharmacy department in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy.
You will administer the day-to-day operations including staff recruitment, retention, performance development, satisfaction and related functions for staff reporting
You will manage the effective operation of the pharmacy drug distribution systems according to regulatory, safety and best practice requirements.
You will oversee the risk and event tracking and lead quality and process improvement initiatives pursuing opportunities for system innovation and redesign.
You will maintain medication system and technology, assess and improve new technology
Participate in committees, task forces, workgroup initiatives, education mandates, clinical research, practice enhancement and quality management utilization
Your will ensure the fiscal accountability of financial and human resource management and budgets.
You will be directly responsible for the leadership, coordination and organization of pharmacy staff.
In addition, you will be responsible for implementing the priorities and indicators for the Hospital and clinical Strategic Plan.
Compensation:
BAND C: $51.07 – $63.87 per hour
What you bring to MSH:
- A B.Sc. in pharmacy with current registration in Part A of the Ontario College of Pharmacists in good standing
- An advanced degree in clinical pharmacy (doctor of pharmacy, or hospital residency) or Business management
- A minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience in hospital pharmacy
- A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in a leadership role, with demonstrated clinical leadership skills, and evidence of ongoing professional development
- A proven track record in modeling and supporting evidence-based and progressive professional practice in pharmacy
- Exemplary interpersonal, communication (written, verbal presentation) and organizational/prioritization skills
- Proven ability to work with individuals across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
- Excellent leadership, collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution abilities with talents in complex analysis and critical thinking
- Ability to creatively problem solve, change and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to coach and support effective team building and functioning
- Respected and progressive leader with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop a high performing team
- Flexible with the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, multitasking and dynamic environment
- Proficient computer skills with advanced knowledge of enabling technologies (IS and medication automation systems)
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
- Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
