Addiction and Mental Health Post-Secondary Institution Clinical Services is looking for an experienced, skilled, enthusiastic and dynamic team member to fill the position of a permanent 1.0 FTE Mental Health Therapist. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of a continuum of treatment services in partnership with local post-secondary institutions, including the University of Lethbridge. The successful candidate will complete screening, assessment, treatment planning, case management and therapeutic interventions in individual and group settings. This person will maintain accurate and appropriate documentation on client files in a timely fashion and able complete referrals to various treatment/community programs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, allied professionals and community agencies to provide seamless service to clients and their significant collaterals in various stages of recovery. This person requires a high degree of clinical skill and experience as well as exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to function independently in a non-AHS work setting, as they will bridge services between medical clinics, post-secondary counselling services and other AHS Addiction and Mental Health programs. This person will have an understanding of prevention, health promotion and community development practices, along with the ability to provide consultation and direct services to enable communities to effectively deal with addiction and mental illness. Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of one of the following programs: master’s degree in Psychology; master’s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; master’s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; master’s degree in Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college. Additional Required Qualifications:
