Apply now to an award winning company!! Where does the Mold Set-up Technician fit in? You, as our next Mold Set-up Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating plastic injection-molding machines. As the Mold Set-up technician your main job function will be to install and remove molds and all downstream equipment to meet production schedules. What you can expect as our next Mold Set-up Technician: Prepare, setup and removal of production molds/tooling as per schedule Prepare workstations, conveyors for production Assist with preparations of resin/materials for production Start up the machine after installation and do initial running phase checks to ensure mold is connected correctly, machine is running to correct specifications required and the finished product is at utmost quality Review production processes to ensure they are running as the documented process Inspect molds for correct set up and check to ensure proper materials are at the press prior to start. Work with material handler to ensure material is prepared (dried if needed) and available Monitor productivity (cycle time) of the injection molding process and production scrap. Communicate with prior and oncoming shifts about work assignments, production expectations and promote shift interaction and awareness Review production schedule and coordinate with Shift Supervisor on priorities Identify and communicate mold/machine problems to Lead hand and Maintenance Work with maintenance to identify machine related issues and tool room to identify mold related issues Participate in training initiatives improve skill sets Utilize process change log when process adjustments are required Properly purge barrel of materials and proper shutdown of machine at the end of an order Assist in the installation, set up and commissioning of new equipment. Ensure all equipment operates as per health and safety requirements / equipment specifications. Maintain cleanliness of all manufacturing equipment, molds, and work areas, and floor around molding machines. Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health and safety rules and regulations. Perform additional tasks as assigned Do you have what it takes to be be our next Mold Set-up Technician? 2 years’ experiences in the plastic injection molding industry Grade 12 education or equivalent Experience in troubleshooting injection molding processes an asset Familiar with plastic resins such as PP, Nylon and other engineered resins is an asset Knowledge of mold hot runner controllers, valve gate auxiliary equipment, thermolators an asset. High degree of mechanical aptitude, highly focused and driven to learn Strong attention to detail and pride in quality of work Good visual skills for assessing part quality High degree of mechanical aptitude, highly focused, and driven to learn Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Good verbal and written communication skills (able to read and write in English) Must have moderate computer and calculator proficiency Must be punctual, reliable and good work ethic. Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and good manufacturing practices Ability to work 12 hr continental shift, be flexible with shift and overtime as required Must understand and be able to work in both imperial and metric systems Current forklift and overhead crane license an asset – Training to be provided as need Must have own basic tools required of setup Perks?!
