Responsibilities
The Per Diem RN I is responsible for providing direct nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education
A.
Graduate from an approved RN nursing program
B.
Bachelors Degree in nursing
Experience
A.
1 year RN work experience or previous experience as a KSC LVN and the new grad’s hiring department will provide direct supervision for 6 months, and participate in the new grad preceptoring program.
B.
Licenses
A.
Valid and current Texas RN license
B.
Special Skills
A.
Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population and for CPR, oxygen administration and intravenous therapy. CRT experience
B.
Specialty nursing certification appropriate to specialty area assigned. Windows bases computer skills.
Other
A.
Current BCLS issued by the American Heart Association
5 shifts per month
3 shifts per year the day before or after a clinic holiday, with minimum of 1 shift related to a winter holiday.
Able to travel within a selected region
