The Foundational Services Organization supports the availability and performance of the Bank’s global technology services, enabling operational excellence by detecting, predicting and preventing customer and business impacting technology incidents and to restore service as quickly as possible when disruptions do occur. Provides Shared Services to optimize delivery and minimize operational risk, including Field Services, Technology Incident Analytics, Regulatory Reporting & Policy Management, Intelligence & Transformation, Event Management, and iCTO Domain Services supporting CTI.

The individual in this role will participate in the planning, development, and implementation of infrastructure solutions involving cross-functional technical experts to meet specific deployment requirements aligned with available playbooks. This individual is viewed as a technology domain subject matter expert (SME); able to provide and communicate technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, and/or vendors. This role will participate in multiple projects and activities related to special initiatives or operations. This individual will lead the resolution process for problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of various factors. This role will establish input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of the total system.

Required Skills

Highly effective ability to apply extensive knowledge of the infrastructure and business applications in order to minimize disruption of services, the delay of deliverables or the recovery of failing components. Proven self-motivated ability to organize or actively participate in projects that improve the overall ability of the organization to provide effective, efficient, and low cost services. Strong working knowledge of the mainframe environment. Primary responsibility is to minimize the impact to service delivery caused by failures of online processing and infrastructure in the Mainframe processing environments. To escalate issues and problems to support or upper management groups as required and to provide expert operational assistance to diagnose and repair same. The focus or experience is on mainframe technologies. ITIL certifications a plus. ITSM knowledge a plus. Previous experience in performing similar function is highly desirable.

Candidate must have 2 or more years of console operations work experience in a multi-platform data center.

Candidate must understand the sensitive and critical nature of data processing and service level agreements and be able to proactively contribute to organizational goals and delivery targets.

Technical experiences should include operator knowledge of JES2/JES3, along with MVS commands. The ability to navigate and provide operator level control over CICS.

Knowledge of standard mainframe tools such as: MAINVIEW, Omegamon, Tivoli, SA/Zos, CAO, OPS/MVS, TMON, NETVIEW, TBSM, and HMC

A working knowledge of VTAM/SNA, IPL and POR procedures is required.

Experience with ticketing tools such as BMC Remedy.

Production Operations Specialist acts as a first point of contact for users as it relates to requests or a failure of a service; as well as being responsible for maintaining the stability for a portfolio of applications. A technical role that works closely with users and other tech teams to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues. Role may perform initial investigation, takes direct action to mitigate impact whenever possible through established routines, participates in triages, and respond to requests from users. This role may be responsible for providing end to end management of application access services. The role follows well-defined SOP and may propose changes to monitoring, alerting and configuration to improve the service levels and works closely with respective subject matter experts.
