Job description: Job Summary: Operates equipment while ensuring quality and productivity standards are met. Completion of all necessary documentationRequired Education and Experience:Must be able to read and write in EnglishMinimum 6 to 18 months experience in a production environment, machine operationAbility to follow standardized work instructionsStraight night shift (11:00pm to 7:30am)Essential Functions:Continuously improve knowledge of all aspects of assigned work cellsActively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing thinking to optimize the work cellActively participate in cross-training and job rotation, both within and outside of the department as neededEnsure that only quality parts are passed on to the next operations, notify team leader of any quality related problems immediatelyComplete all necessary documentation (production reports, quality alerts, etc.) correctly and in a timely manner. Ask for assistance as requiredEnsure First Off and Last Off procedures are being followed at all timesOperate variety of equipment, manually produce parts or perform other duties according to specific job instructionsFollow standardized work instructions and verbal directions to meet targeted production quotas independently and as part of a teamBe involved with activities such as 1X1 problem solving and continuous improvementsCreate Live Reporting labels when requiredProvide/pre-stage material for related processes in order to meet hourly production ratesEnsure handling, storage, packaging, preservation and delivery of product so as to prevent damage, contamination, and deterioration Escalate all quality and part shortage concerns to team leader immediatelyAbide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee HandbookWork Environment:100% work indoor on the plant floor (PPE required)Health and Safety:Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and proceduresMust use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the CompanyDecision Making and Authority:Decision Making:Is based on a set of standard work instructions Functional Reporting Relationships:This role will report directly to Area Leader Recommendations:Safety, Quality, and Productivity Quantitative Measurable:0 safety infractions, 0 quality issues, required efficiency target of production; participation in Continuous Improvement initiatives Other Duties:Perform other duties as requiredThis job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of duties and responsibilities required for this job.
