Job Description

As a Production/Supply Chain Supervisor, the individual is responsible for supervising a group of employees involved in production or operations. The group is responsible for quality products in a safe, and timely manner! Also, the Supervisor is responsible for reducing costs, eliminating waste, and improving safety practices. Together with other Supervisors, the Co-Op student is part of a team supporting business objectives, and maintaining operation at a world-class level. Some of the problem-solving work is of a technical nature, which requires the ability to make timely decisions within specified limits and requires that the individual can effectively cope with change and can comfortably handle risk and uncertainly.

Furthermore, the Production/Supply Chain Supervisor can expect to be collaborating on innovation challenges, interacting with industry leaders, attending professional trade events, and volunteering for community service activities.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise hourly represented employees in a unionized environment

Implement Health & Safety regulations, and promote a safe work environment

Ensure quality levels are maintained and improved every day

Maintain and exceed efficiency levels through continuous improvements

Effective use of personnel, material and equipment

Align with terms of local and national labour agreements

Maintain department records and complete various administrative tasks

Supervise and achieve business plan objectives and targets

Shift rotations and flexible to work weekends and overtime as required

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications

Enrolled in an Engineering, or Business/Commerce Degree program and in your 3rd/4th/Master year of study preferred

Must be eligible to work full-time (40 hours per week) in Canada, and for a 4-16 month term (1-4 consecutive semesters)

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills

Demonstrates initiative with the ability to plan and execute tasks

Possess strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills

Fundamental digital literacy including proven understanding of MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

Highly adaptable with the ability to work independently with little supervision while collaborating within a team environment

Must be proficient with the English language

Preferred Qualifications

Prior manufacturing experience would be beneficial
