POSITION SUMMARY

General Helpers are entry-level Machine Operators within our heavy industrial manufacturing facility. As a Machine Operator, they are responsible for providing verification of the quality of the product being produced. They may be required to move up and down stairs, bend, lift, carry items, etc. Safety awareness is a must.

General Helpers are required to work the shift rotation associated with the area where they are working.

The position rate of pay is $21.92 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package. There is also opportunity to advance into Machine Operator positions which earn between $30-$35 per hour.

Applicants are required to work all shifts as shown below, shift rotates every 2 weeks.

Morning shift

6:00am to 2:30pm

Afternoon Shift

2:30pm to 10:30pm

Evening Shift

10:30pm to 6:00am

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operation of a forklift.
• Operation of an overhead crane.
• Operation of production machinery.
• Production department housekeeping (i.e. sweeping, machine cleaning, shoveling, painting, vacuuming, etc.).
• Warehouse work (i.e. lifting up to 50 lbs., moving up and down stairs, bending, lifting, and carrying items).
• Assisting machine operators at a machine (lifting / moving product).

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous manufacturing experience in an industrial environment is considered an asset.
• Ability to speak, read and write English.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Must have steel-toed safety boots with non-slip sole.
• General Helpers must have their own transportation to and from work to reliably attend work on the off shifts.
