Position Overview

The Professional Education Manager will be responsible for leading the execution and launch of key learning programs and partnering with the US to leverage internal resources. This is a critical role on the Canadian leadership team which will be responsible for crafting, developing, and delivering a phenomenal learning experience for Healthcare Professionals in Ophthalmology.

Partnering with members of the Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision, Surgical Sales, Marketing, and Commercial Excellence teams, the manager will ensure the learning technologies deliver on key customer requirements and improve the customer learning experience.

The manager will capture customer insights to define requirements for learning programs and technologies to ensure successful launch and integration into customer learning experiences.

The manager will utilize their strong leadership skills to effectively align internal team members to meet specific objectives. Identifying and leading key opportunities with the customer facing teams nationally. The Manger will help to drive differentiation in the marketplace by elevating education with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, and Health System administrators across Canada.

Key responsibilities

Executional Excellence:

Develops and effectively communicates short- and long-term priorities to the region and ensures learning strategies and solutions meet organizational business needs

Educates and guides others in identifying, prioritizing, and acquiring the necessary resources and budget for projects.

Proactively builds and implements rigorous, systematic, metric oriented processes to track and monitor project plan implementation and results

Business Acumen

Successfully influences and navigates the matrixed environment by leveraging an in-depth understanding of businesses to find improved efficiencies in the design and delivery of learning strategies.

Uses industry benchmarking insights and data to make validated decisions. Establishes strategic partnerships with internal stakeholder groups to anticipate and address changes in the healthcare environment while promoting a service provider mentality.

Health System & Business Development

Leverage’s knowledge of the healthcare environment, emerging patient pathways, marketplace, and competitive landscape to identify future market forces and develop stakeholder networks to effectively position JJSV as the partner of choice.

Other:

Demonstrates consultative and interactive approach in engaging customers to facilitate and achieve results, i.e., follows up on customer interactions and commitments, effectively positioning emerging technologies and solutions to meet unmet Health System and Patient needs.

Functions as an ambassador for JJSV, its vision and values with patient centric focus, at all levels of the business. Engages key opinion leader and advocate development by establishing meaningful relationships with these Canadian HCPs.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years in dynamic Healthcare or Technology roles such as: Marketing, Professional Education, Product Management, Sales, Sales Training; or other applicable experience required. Experience in Product Management, Global and/or Strategic Marketing preferred
  • Experience applying technology (ex. simulation, VR/AR, etc.) in learning preferred
  • Experience working in the medical device industry preferred.
  • Project management experience
  • Proven ability to develop and lead internal and external networks
  • Ability to travel 40%+ of time in Canada.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, communication and collaboration / team building skills
