Mission

The Project Director will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians assigned to industrial projects, all in accordance with requirements and respecting pre-established budget, schedule and quality constraints. This person will have an excellent knowledge of the methods of carrying out projects such as EPCM, EPC and other alternative modes such as IPD (Integrated Project Delivery).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure full management of the projects entrusted
  • Be responsible for the organization of the project, planning, work plans and see to their application
  • Ensure the establishment of a project implementation team
  • Responsible for managing the staff assigned to the project and coordinating the various departments involved
  • Prepare and facilitate project start-up, planning and monitoring meetings
  • Participate in coordination meetings with the client and relevant external stakeholders
  • Ensure, on an ongoing basis, the best possible communication between all stakeholders
  • Direct and supervise the progress of engineering work, activities related to estimation and construction so as to ensure a smooth flow of activities in accordance with established objectives
  • Participate in the development and coordination of plans, specifications and estimates
  • Participate in the choice of technical solutions in collaboration with the designers
  • Ensure the project’s compliance with the mandates entrusted and ensure the management of change requests
  • Set up the tools and control budgets, deadlines, the quality of deliverables and respect for health, safety and the environment

Profile

  • University Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent related discipline
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical, structural or electrical engineering
  • Recognized expertise in leading engineering projects
  • Relevant experience in construction, planning and estimation
  • Ability to coordinate projects of a multidisciplinary nature
  • Experience in project management (FEL 1 to FEL 4)
  • Availability to travel to client / plants / industrial sites
  • Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec
  • Bilingual (written and spoken, in French and English)
  • Strong sense of organization, thoroughness and judgment
  • Motivating leadership, proactivity and the ability to work under pressure
