Job description: Liteline is a successful, family-owned lighting manufacturer based in Richmond Hill, Ontario. An established leader in the Canadian market, we are now growing across North America and expanding our team.
We are currently looking for a Project Manager for Engineering Department who is enthusiastic, energetic, detail-oriented, and who possesses excellent analytical skills.
The Project Manager manages key Engineering projects. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time and within scope. Oversee various aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize the progress of the project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding the status of the project. The successful candidate will work directly with local or overseas manufacturers to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope. He or she will coordinate with other departments such as Product Development, Purchasing, Production, Sales to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress from inception, execution up to closure.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties for the flawless execution of projects by maintaining continuous communication with overseas manufacturers for all engineering aspects of the projects.
- Manage engineering changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques, and coordinate with upper management to validate those changes.
- Resolve issues and bottlenecks while actively communicating with relevant stakeholders.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation such as engineering line drawings, product approvals, test reports, specification sheets, BOMs.
- Schedule and facilitate status update meetings with Liteline manufacturers, and share minutes to keep senior leadership and internal teams informed about the status of ongoing projects.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Attend international conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
- Visit manufacturing locations (when possible) to ensure their capabilities are aligning with the project’s scope.
- Use and continually develop leadership skills.
This is the perfect job for you if you have:
- University or college degree/diploma in the Mechanical or Electrical field or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years experience in a similar position.
- Proven experience in the lighting industry and basic knowledge of safety and performance standards related to luminaires (UL, CSA, Energy Star, Title 24, DLC) will be considered an asset.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint).
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as Dynamics NAV will be considered an asset.
