BUILD ON YOUR CAREER EXPERIENCE BY:
– Delivering direct patient care by assessing, planning and evaluating nursing care to patients in an acute medical unit or within an outpatient intravenous (IV) setting and/or in a residential setting or home environment

– Performing peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) insertions in order to establish and/or maintain intravenous therapy.

– Assessing patients receiving IV therapy and collecting information from a variety of sources

– Participating in the care and discharge planning process for patients by ensuring the care plan is established and implemented effectively

– Coordinating nursing care for the patient; setting priorities, assigning and delegating tasks to support staff, and making referrals according to established protocols and practice standards

– Working collaboratively and in partnership with the interprofessional care team in the provision of person-centered care

– Instructing patients and families/care givers about illness prevention, health restoration and health maintenance to help patients in accomplishing their health care goals

YOUR BACKGROUND INCLUDES:
– Graduation from an approved school of Nursing

– Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

– Advanced proficiencies in peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) insertions

– Valid BC Driver’s Licence and access to a personal vehicle for business related purposes

This role is a relief part-time position located at Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) in New Westminster, BC. RCH is a provincial referral hospital (tertiary/trauma care centre) with 422 acute beds that is University of BC Affiliated. RCH is located ½ hour from downtown Vancouver, and close to rapid transit, shopping, restaurants and other amenities.
