Job Description

The Women’s College Hospital Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care (WIHV) aims to improve heath by working to develop, implement and evaluate innovations in clinical care and policy. An exciting temporary full-time opportunity as a Research Assistant exists in the WCH Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care (WIHV), reporting to the Manager, Virtual Care.

Summary of Duties, but not limited to:

  • Assist with the day to day tasks involved in research studies involving digital health technology implementation projects:

o Conduct and synthesize literature reviews to assist in protocol development
o Assist the project team with research ethics applications including drafting, submitting, and managing amendments to the applications
o Conduct participant recruitment/enrollment and informed consent processes
o Perform data collection, maintenance and analysis including but not limited to:
 Support and maintenance of web-based surveys
 Qualitative data collection and transfer to appropriate database
 Quantitative data collection and transfer to appropriate database

  • Assist with preparing materials for project deliverables and presentations
  • Assist with necessary data flow between internal and external collaborators
  • Schedule and attend research meetings, including preparing agendas and meeting minutes

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in health sciences and/or other health-related discipline; Graduate degree considered an asset
  • Some research assistant experience, including experience with data collection preferred
  • Basic quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis experience considered an asset
  • Experience working with and maintaining web-based surveys
  • Demonstrated strong independent working and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work well in a deadline-oriented and team-based environment with competing priorities
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Strong skills in MS Officer (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required
  • Professional behavior and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital
  • This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all
