During our program, trainees will learn how our products, services and solutions are acquired, sold, and delivered through hands-on and in-the-job training from the warehouse floor to making deliveries and vending operations to customer service and productivity savings. Employees in our trainee program graduate within two years and ideally move into a sales or operations position.

Following a rotational program through several departments and positions, the Trainee will start as a Customer Support Coordinator (aka Vending Replenishment) and may advance into Customer Service, Warehouse or Inside Sales departments. Upon completing the Sales Management Trainee Program, you will have the knowledge and skill set needed to successfully grow their career into sales, operations, management and more.

Not only will you receive firsthand experience, but you’ll shadow experienced and successful team members and use online training to learn more about the metalworking industry.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW:

• Take part in a variety of on-going training activities including product training (online and on-site), sales and business training.
• Over the course of the program, trainee will fill the role as a Warehouse Associate, Customer Support Specialist, Customer Service Rep, etc. The time spent in each tract will be determined based on performance and mastery of the role and by position availability.
• Warehouse Operations Tract:

• The initial function of the sales management trainee will be learning warehouse operations and working as a Warehouse Associate / Delivery Driver. The Trainee will be responsible for learning and performing shipping, receiving, picking, packing, staging, transporting, storage, delivery and more. The Trainee will work to ensure the efficient flow of products from the point of receipt into the warehouse from vendors to the shipment of products to our customers.
• Customer Support (VMI) Tract:

• Working with the local warehouse supervisor, the Trainee will be responsible for the delivery and replenishment of products into the Auto Crib vending solutions at customer locations with the local market. Additionally, the Trainee will ensure the machine is in clean, proper working order. The Trainee will serve as the conduit connecting the customer with sales and customer service ensuring that we are exceeding expectations.
• Customer Service Tract:

• In this function, the Trainee will work with customers over the phone and via email. The Customer Service Representative is accountable for dealing with customer complaints, inquiries, quotes, orders and processing transactions. They are the front-line agents in all customer requests, service & needs and are the main conduit for DGI Supply’s customer relations image.

At the conclusion of these tracts, the Sales Management Trainee will move into an Account Manager role. In this role, the new Account Manager will select one of our Technical Sales Reps to work with as their mentor as they move into outside sales. The Trainee can also decide, over the course of the Program, to move into Operations and/or Management roles. The goal of the Program is to develop talent to grow within the organization in any function or capacity.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred
• Work experience is ideal, but not required, in warehouse, customer service, manufacturing or the trades
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrated leadership ability, ambitious and a strong work ethic
• Flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment; high energy, self-motivated, self-directed, and able to focus on multiple projects and activities simultaneously
• Problem-solving ability
• Passionate, Adaptable, Customer Focused and Teamwork oriented
• Strong sense of urgency and accountability
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software
• Desire to grow and advance within sales or operations
• Potential to relocate for opportunity at conclusion of Trainee Program
