Job title: Scaffold General Foreman

Job description: Reporting to site supervision, the Scaffold General Foreman will be responsible for the day to day supervision and operations of their respective work areas at our clients facility. The successful candidate will be a Journeyman Scaffolder with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a supervisory role in a plant maintenance environment. Candidates must live within an 80 km radius of Joffre, Ab. Only local candidates will be considered at this time.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Journeyman Scaffolder with 10 years of plant maintenance or construction experience (previous supervisory experience will be considered an asset)
  • Ability to implement company safety and quality programs
  • Ability to manage large crews
  • Ability to estimate jobs effectively
  • Able to safely erect all types of scaffolding with little or no supervision (i.e. Towers, cantilevers and hanging scaffolds)
  • Identify ideal type of scaffolding material to use for the job (i.e. Frame, tube & clamp, system)
  • Well-developed administrative, supervisory, and problem-solving skills
  • Computer proficiency in an MS Windows environment
  • Maintain relations with Customer and co-workers through effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to achieve 100% completion of mandatory training
  • Ability to meet the requirements of the Physical Demands Analysis
  • Available to work on short notice for call outs and overtime, nightshift as per Customer request
  • Reliable and punctual with good attendance
  • Familiarity working in a work-permit environment
  • Previous Joffre Site experience will be considered an asset
  • Self-motivated and willing to demonstrate initiative
  • Good housekeeping skills
  • Required Certifications: CSTS 2020, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection(full), valid Drivers License, Leadership for Safety Excellence an asset

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates all tasks with the workers in the field and provide leadership for technical aspects
  • Ensures work is done safely through regular Safety Toolbox meetings and on the job monitoring; identify all incidents to the supervisor for follow up
  • Ensure all employees assigned to the unit have received and understand the Unit safety indoctrination
  • Monitor the quality of workmanship and identify potential problems to the Plant Coordinator
  • Interact with the supervisor on manpower and manpower leveling requirements
  • Attend all meetings as requested by the Customer
  • Comply with Quinn and Customer safety policies and procedures
  • Estimate jobs effectively
  • Effectively communicate scope of work to the scaffolding crews
  • Inspect and tag scaffolding accordingly
  • Maintain relations with Customer and co-workers through effective interpersonal and communication skills
