Role Summary:

As part of the Sun Life Distribution Analytics team, you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of applying data and analytics to tackle business problems. You will be helping Sun Life use analytics to deliver on our purpose of helping our Clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives.
Reporting to the Director, Distribution Analytics, the Senior Insights Analyst will support the business with deep analytics and insights to answer strategic and operational questions primarily for the Business Growth team.
What will you do?
Partner with the Business Growth team to provide insights regarding opportunities in the areas of Advisor Support Programs, Campaigns, Client for Life Initiatives, Financial Planning Capabilities and Recognition.
Provide modeling support and insights regarding potential changes and the impact of recent changes to the Recognition program.
Ensure that the reporting needs for Recognition are appropriately met, teaming with BI Analysts on the SLFD Analytics team who will deliver on these needs.
Turn complex data into easy to understand insights that are aligned to business objectives.
Work with leaders and internal clients to identify where insights might add the most value in driving effective decision making and frame the analytics support to deliver these insights.
Put together effective presentations of findings and desire to present to multiple levels of stakeholders.
What will you need to succeed?
5+ years’ experience in delivering insights and analytics.
Experience in using data analysis tools such as Microsoft SQL server, SAS EG or similar.
Must be proficient in SQL coding to query and analyze data.
Must have experience in creating dashboards and stories in Tableau.
Experience in developing and implementing Excel VBA applications is strongly desirable.
Experience in working in an agile development environment including rapid prototyping during sprints.
Degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering or equivalent is required.
Competencies:
Ability to work independently, manage engagements or parts of large engagements directly with business partners.
Solid understanding of how to consolidate and transform data to meaningful and actionable information
Ability to draw out meaningful business insights by synthesizing information from multiple sources
Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation and storytelling with data
Demonstrated experience in development of analytics applications or data analysis, including insights development and communication to senior leadership

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
