Position

As a Senior Financial Analyst in the Corporate Investments and Treasury department, you will be involved in all aspects of the Mortgage Banking Operations (MBO) including financing, risk management, and forecasting. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide analytical support and the preparation of presentation materials for our team.

Responsibilities:

Architect and maintain databases with key business information obtained from internal and external data sources, mine and analyze data for actionable insights, trends or other statistical correlations

Prepare annual and monthly mortgage business volume and profitability forecasts based on data analysis and trends. Annually, work with key stakeholders to prepare comprehensive business operating plan, including anticipated funding volumes, mix and attrition assumptions, understanding expected interest rate environment, funding costs, mortgage margins and expected MBO revenue.

Review actual mortgage business volumes & profitability relative to forecasts, and prepare reporting for senior management to communicate the key volume and rate drivers of MBO profitability, including review of mortgage funding volumes, interest rate environment, mortgage margins, financial risks, and industry trends

Review our published interest rates and margins for accuracy and completeness and follow up with internal stakeholders as required

Collect and consolidate daily information on mortgage flows (fundings, sales, etc.), analyze these metrics relative to the annual business operating plan, and refine short-term mortgage financing requirements forecasts

Complete liquidity and other risk sensitivity testing, sharing results with colleagues across the Corporate Investments & Treasury department

Review and recommend any required updates to various control documents

Provide finance support as necessary on corporate and business development opportunities, and other ad-hoc analysis

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree with focus in business, finance, statistics, economics, or data management. Willingness to pursue a financial designation (e.g., CFA, FRM, CBV, etc.) would be considered an asset

2 to 5 years related work experience

Strong analytical skills with attention to details. Inherent drive to understand is the underlying drivers of business results

High proficiency in PC applications, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database technologies

Strong verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to develop executive level presentations

Highly organized with ability to work independently and manage multiple demands under tight time constraints

Strong interpersonal skills
