Job Description

The Solutions Engineering team is responsible for developing and supporting automation across the Investment Operations department. The team works directly with users to come up with requirements and utilizes the appropriate technology stack to develop automation for their processes. There are several functions within the Investment Operations department including but not limited to trade capture, PnL reporting, trade settlement, reconciliation and collateral management.

The Sr. Analyst is expected to develop automation using Python, SQL and VBA as well as support existing ones. There are a wide range of processes requiring automation such as data extraction/cleanup, reconciliation, reporting, email generation and file delivery. Small web applications may also be required to be developed and supported. They are also expected to collaborate directly with end users to understand their requirements and design the most effective solution.

Role-Specific Accountabilities

  • Design automation plans by communicating with end users in other functional teams within Investment Operations
  • Develop and implement automated solutions that are in line with industry best practices, deliver efficiency and scalability
  • Provide end-user support to ensure minimal disruption by troubleshooting automation issues when they occur
  • Provide knowledge transfer to team members and support end users through application demos and walkthroughs
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in programing with VBA, Python and SQL; experience with Angular is considered an asset
  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA) experience is considered an asset
  • Workflow Automation (Low-Code platform) experience is considered an asset
  • General understanding of how cash and derivative products work
  • Experience with the Bloomberg, Murex, Simcorp applications is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and is a self-starter with superior analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Computer Science, Math, Economics, Engineering or other related discipline
  • Exemplifies our Guiding Principles of integrity, partnership and high performance
