We have an opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team, responsible for partnering with the assigned Affiliate team(s) to assess the critical success factors for the team(s) and deliver solutions which are applicable, acceptable which help deliver their business technology’s needs. This position is based in Montreal (Saint-Laurent) and reports to the Data and Analytic Solutions Lead, Business Technology Solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Master the different phases of a business technology project: gathering needs requirements, writing specifications, monitoring, testing, user training and guidelines.
- Ability to understand challenges and to translate them into the adapted processes and information systems.
- Overseeing implementation of solutions – checking against the initial requirements.
- Identifying and raising issues impacting the execution of strategic / operational / project plans.
- Assist in the development of standards and procedures. Prepares written reports of work.
- Monitors and organizes the efforts of technical and business support activities – work in collaboration with the PMO/project managers to create the project breakdown tasks.
- Facilitating collaboration with key business stakeholders to capture user stories and business requirements.
- Translate business requirements into a conceptual design to produce thorough assessments and solution recommendations (work closely with the BTS leads and product owners).
- Solicit and interpret conceptual business needs and document requirements collecting data from multiple sources.
- Work collaboratively with the BTS Global team to leverage capabilities.
- Identify, evaluate, and document operational changes to improve information and processing systems.
- Identify and quantify risks relevant to business and systems requirements.
- Work effectively with the BTS team to accomplish organizational goals.
- Manage projects according to milestones and completes tasks assigned by the project managers.
Qualifications
Education / Experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Technology, Computer Science or related field is required.
- Previous experience in the development and delivery of technological solutions (minimum of five to seven years):
- Past working experience working as a Solution Specialist/Business Consultant for front office.
- Strong understanding and experience in the field of business models, business requirements and IT-related solutions, applicable to one or more of the following areas: Commercial activities, customer experience, brand management, data analytics, customer insights, and business development.
- IT experience supporting commercial functions.
- Expertise of emerging trends in pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of established and developing markets.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Ability to think and plan strategically (work plans, activities, timetables, targeting) and operating with execution excellence.
Essential skills and abilities:
- Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks).
- Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
- French and Advanced English language proficiency (oral and written).
