The selected candidate will join an established BI team and will become a Senior BSA with a strong emphasis on Data and Analytics.
Senior Business Systems Analyst, Job Highlights
Fast paced environment where multi-tasking and strong organizational skills are a must.
Interact with end users, Business Analysts, ETL developers, Project Managers, & members of the production support teams.
Participate in various aspects of the project life cycle, from pre-analysis, scoping, agile development, implementation, testing & release;
Support products during pre and post implementation;
Heavy emphasis on projects related to analytics from Operational to Dashboards to Data Science.
Senior Business Systems Analyst, Key Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of extensive BSA experience.
Be able to work to understand and define business needs as it relates to data and analytics.
Create detailed business requirement documents, obtain sign off from key stakeholders, provide ongoing updates and review throughout the project life cycle
Documented requirements should be clear and reusable with ability from IT to C-Suite to easily consume the information free of ambiguity
Work collaboratively throughout the project life cycle with possible hands on involvement in areas from pre-analysis and documentation to formal testing and deployment.
Ability to work with project technical team as well as SME’s to come up with easy to understand data models. Mostly with an emphasis around logical data flow.
Able to work with timelines in a fast paced environment. Should be mostly independent from day to day in managing the timelines and deliverables
Contribute to process improvements and able to apply new technologies to provide project and team efficiencies.
Ability to accurately estimate work & complete deliverables on time;
Problem solving skills are a must as you resolve issues and overcome challenges through creative problem solving;
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experienced candidate will be able to work independently and also form productive working relationships with colleagues across different teams and departments.
Senior Business Systems Analyst, Assets:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Software, Business Administration or Computer Science/Engineering fields or have related industry experience or acumen
Ability to document requirements like Project Charters, Product Specs, business reference guides, Test Documents, Data Mapping and Data Dictionaries
Detailed practical working knowledge in SDLC methodologies, SQL, Teradata, MS Office, data warehouses, databases, analytics and reporting
Previous experience with areas such as MicroStrategy, Machine Learning and Big Data would be an asset
Experience in Retail is an asset.
