The Personal Banking Financing sector is setting up a datastore on AWS in order to extract its business data through APIs, Kafka Streams and S3 buckets.

This position reports to the Manager, Personal Banking Financing DataStore and involves:

• Providing expert data engineering advice while working with the business line
• Applying rigorous analysis methods and controls to large databases to ensure data integrity and completeness
• Defining the transformations to be made to source systems in order to extract data
• Interacting with other data engineers and various internal partners
• Having the opportunity to work on new data analysis trends within the industry.

Specifically, you will:

• Help identify and document authoritative sources of data that meet business line needs
• Design, automate and implement real-time data integration solutions that meet the sector’s needs, in accordance with the Bank’s best practices
• Establish testing strategies for new developments
• Help improve processes and tools, and guide the choice of data analysis tools
• Identify data analytics infrastructure needs and update the technological environment accordingly
• Serve as an expert in the field for establishing the data strategy
• Be an agent for change and ensure co-development (identify needs and suggest training activities) with the business line
• Monitor best practices and tools available in the data analysis and integration field

Ideal profile:

• Completed bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR completed master’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience
• Solid experience in data analytics, manipulation and visualization
• Experience in analyzing/creating reports and dashboards used in decision-making
• Experience in database modelling (e.g., 3NF, dimensional, Data Vault), an asset
• Advanced proficiency in at least one data analysis tool
• Knowledge of Python or SQL
• Sound knowledge of Power BI or another dashboard tool
• Proactive and diligent
• Strong collaborative spirit
• Good time and priority management skills
• Knowledge of the Agile approach (Scrum), an asset
• Good communication skills and able to influence
• Bilingualism, both spoken and written (English and French)
