Job description: Are you ready to expand your career? We are currently recruiting for Senior & Intermediate Area Engineers to provide planning, engineering, and supervision services for our First Nation clients. This posting for senior level positions provides the opportunity to be a team lead on layout and development projects. Team lead positions require the submission of harvesting and PHARM applications, appraisal submissions, work with contracted log brokers, and conducting logging supervision. Our intermediate level position offers experience and training for those that want to expand their career in forestry tenure planning and management.
THE FIRM:
Capacity Forest Management Ltd. is a Campbell River based forest management company specializing in the management of First Nations Forest Tenures. We are different from other consulting companies as we offer full phase forest tenure management and professional forestry services. This includes negotiating tenure agreements, operational planning, engineering, permitting, appraisals, mapping/GIS, logging management & supervision, and planting/stand tending through to free growing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Capacity Forest Management Ltd. is seeking individuals preferably registered or eligible for registration with the ABCFP as a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) or a Registered Professional Forester (RPF).
SENIOR ENGINEERING TEAM LEAD – A minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering is preferred. As a successful candidate for this position, you will possess strong communication skills as well as a proven track record in all aspects of lay-out, permit applications, appraisals, PHARM, budgeting and supervisory skills.
INTERMEDIATE AREA ENGINEER – A minimum of 2+ years’ experience is preferred. As a successful candidate for this position, you will possess strong communication skills as well as a proven track record in all aspects of lay-out, office work, mapping and GIS and supervisory skills.
The area of work includes the Campbell River area, with travel throughout BC to be expected. As an integral part of the engineering team, you will be vital to the expansion of the company’s business. Experience in working with First Nations are an asset. This position will be a very dynamic and is a growth-oriented role.
