They are looking for a Senior Finance Director who will be responsible for managing a team that performs the financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning & analysis, treasury, tax, pensions, and statutory reporting.

About the Opportunity

  • Conduct, participate in, and oversee daily/weekly/monthly financial reconciliation and reporting processes, and perform various financial analyses in support of the business operations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procedures to improve efficiency of financial functions, internal controls, and accuracy of financial reporting in accordance with appropriate accounting standards
  • Review results, make forecasts, and monitor trends in the industry, sales, general business conditions, and other related areas and makes recommendations for change where necessary
  • Lead the development/continuous improvement of new systems of analysis and reporting
  • Prepare and deliver documentation for monthly/quarterly/yearly analysis and exec/Board presentations
  • Lead the preparation of mid-year reviews and year-end audit processes
  • Manage the development of profit plans, annual budget and rolling forecasts
  • Perform financial analysis at the highest level to evaluate potential business opportunities and investments, both organic and inorganic
  • Identify revenue generating or cost saving opportunities and discuss with the Management Committee
  • Manage the financial planning strategies and follow up controls and comparisons relating to both short-term and long-term plans
  • Manage the planning process, analyze data, and develop strategy for financial planning and analysis functions
  • Interact with Government regulatory bodies, including Canadian Revenue Authority among others
  • There is no travel required, possibly come to the US or Europe one time a year

About You

  • CPA designation
  • Min 15 years of broad finance experience (Strategy, controllership, FP&A)
  • Coming from a company with tangible goods (manufacturing and CPG preferred)
  • Understanding of financial instruments – derivatives/hedging
  • IFRS/US GAAP exposure

Salary

$180,000 to $200,000/year
