Job description: The Senior Financial Analyst is a leader, consultant and analyst who helps set the financial tone on accuracy and completeness and is centered on providing insightful financial direction to the HCCSSs and the East Region of Home and Community Care Support Services
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, consolidating, validating, analyzing, interpreting and reporting on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis, the financial information related to the various internal business operations of Home and Community Care Support Services South East. The Senior Financial Analyst is lead on annual audit and is key to identifying and supporting appropriate internal financial controls across the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development of reports in, and the ongoing maintenance of the GL linked reporting tool (Management Reporter) to ensure accurate, complete and timely reports are available by segregated funding envelope to Home and Community Care Support Services South East;
- On an ongoing basis, provides analysis and support in collecting, consolidating, validating, analyzing and interpreting the financial information of Home and Community Care Support Services South East;
- Prepares, reviews and validates financial reports on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis for distribution within finance, MOH and to the various business leads of Home and Community Care Support Services South East;
- Is lead Analyst in preparing, reviewing and assembling the audit file and working papers for the annual financial audit;
- Works closely with the audit staff on site during the interim and final audit field work;
- Assists with the development of and reporting on the annual operational budget of Home and Community Care Support Services South East;
- Assists with the monthly financial and statistical forecasting work as required;
- Tracks in-year changes for approved funding and expenditure revisions
Education and Experience:
– Chartered Professional Accountant designation
– Recent, related experience analyzing and interpreting financial data including performance data and audited financial statements which is normally attained over a period of five years
– Project management certification and/or experience is an asset
Knowledge:
– Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
– Proven experience and advanced knowledge of financial reporting practices, procedures and auditing
– Proven experience and advanced knowledge of budgeting and forecasting
– Knowledge of internal controls
– Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with specific attention to Excel and Word
– Knowledge of MIS (Management Information System) and OHRS (Ontario Healthcare Reporting System) considered an asset
– Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics, Quadrant Payroll System considered an asset

This position is temporary until approximately November 2023
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
Location: The work location is dependent on desk space availability and may be the work location of the successful candidate or such other location as may be mutually agreed by the Employee and the Employer.
