Your role

Manage staff reporting to you, assess their performance and ensure optimal professional development in order to have competent resources in place to respond to the department’s current and future needs.

With the Director, strategize and implement optimum configuration of support departments in support of corporate direction and initiatives, such as the evolution of audio and video editing systems.

Participate in the preliminary stages of the engineering project as a consultant in order to define the support plan, including the number and type of resources required and the level of supplier support.

Ensure effective, on-time management of the support contracts to be negotiated, inventoried and renewed.

Participate in the department’s financial planning.

Be responsible for staff workload, health and safety at work.

Manage projects and Ops initiatives.

Be responsible for resource assignment to service coordinators and project coordinators (within and outside of division).

Collaborate with other managers to optimize support workflow, processes and procedures.

Be the first source for support for staff for day-to-day information and challenges.

Work in close collaboration with other managers and keep each other informed of the service portfolio issues, problems and successes.

Conduct regular department staff meetings to address any operational issues and continuously look at improving overall quality of support.

Be accountable for corporate infrastructure operations and security.

Perform staff performance evaluation with input from service coordinators and project coordinators.

Ensure all Service Requests, Incidents Reports and Change Requests are recorded in the service ticketing system.

Be the single point of contact for Ops services. Interface to the NAC, T&I, InfoSec, DBAs & Apps, Digital Services, Engineering Solutions and other partners.

Produce, manage and follow up incident Post Mortems.

Coordinate communications and troubleshooting for major outage events.

Document and follow up to address problems and get final resolution.

Make sure all infrastructure events (outages, incidents, changes, maintenance, etc.) are recorded in the service ticketing system.

Assist in coordinating major changes: communications, schedule, roll back and fall back processes. Ensure that the proper Change Process and Maintenance Protocol is being respected.

Negotiate and document partners’ SLOs.

Produce and maintain system Run Books.

Review all services’ KPIs and conduct monthly meetings to present and address any support performance and capacity issues.

Coordinate and facilitate escalation and regular meetings with external vendors.

Promote good communications, collaboration, excellence in support and a healthy work climate, including employee engagement.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

College or University Diploma or Degree in related field or relevant experience.

Five or more years of experience in broadcast infrastructure.

Three or more years of experience in a management role.

Experience as part of a media company and in a unionized environment is a valuable asset.

Strong communication skills (both written and oral) in French and English.

Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently and take initiative.

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
