This Senior Finance Manager position with a growing not-for-profit Organization is for candidates who can take charge of daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties. How you will make an impact
– Lead and encourage the full accounting team performance during the closing process to ensure deadlines are met
– Work closely with accounting management to create relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
– Prepare various technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures
– Contribute to the preparation of GAAP financial statements through data analysis, document preparation, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes
– Regularly review and inspect balance sheets and income statement accounts owned by the Senior Accountant
– Play a key role in the implementation of a new payroll transition
– Provide strategic support to executive team regarding financial issues, budgetary issues, and government funding reporting
– Lead the preparation of financial statements and supporting analysis monthly, quarterly and annually
– Lead and develop a team of 2 direct reports
– Oversee and maintain responsibility of IT requirements, policies, technology needs and implementations of new systems
Requirements
– CPA designation required
– 7+ years of experience in finance and accounting
– Prior experience at a not-for-profit organization is considered an asset
– Ability to manage a team and provide hands on support for all finance functions
– Ability to facilitate growth and change
– Experience using ERP systems including QuickBooks, and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains considered an asset
