Job description: What is the opportunity?
As a Senior Manager of the Data Delivery Technology, you will lead a team responsible for development, support and troubleshooting the internal RBC middleware applications.
You will be responsible for providing direction to the team, helping the team investigate new technology platforms, ensuring the stability of the service through the modernization, and partnering with stakeholders across the organization. The position requires strong management skills, communication skills, both written and verbal, the ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and to work and interface with people at various levels across the organization.
What will you do?
- Manage a team of people supporting their growth and development, helping them overcome obstacles and providing direction
- Plan and coordinate all maintenance, enhancement and support activities for the application portfolio to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished
- Manage production incidents from coordinating problem resolution and communicating to key stakeholders
- Promote innovative or improved methods to get the work done and implement best practices
- Raise and track issues or conflicts, remove barriers, resolve issues of medium complexity involving stakeholders and escalate to appropriate level where required
- Work closely with App Dev partners, Operations, other IT groups and vendors, as required; ensuring high quality implementations and internal operational processes
- Promote innovative or improved methods to get the work done and implement best practices
- Apply critical thinking and software development skills to identify and resolve challenges.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in leadership and/or people management of an application development team
- Proven application support, maintenance, and delivery of enhancements projects on critical applications
- Demonstrated change management skills
- Good understanding of enterprise IT Risk Management processes and controls
- Bachelor’s degree in technical area of study (computer science, mathematics, engineering, etc.) or equivalent combination of practical experience and professional training
- Strong analytical skills to lead investigations and perform analysis of root cause.
Nice to Have
- Experience on z/OS with TSO/ISPF, Batch, IMS, CICS, Dump debugging tools, source code management tools
- Programming experience in programming languages such as COBOL, JCL, ASSEMBLER, C, C++, REXX, Java
- Experience with z/OS Connect, Universal Command.
- Experience with IBM MQ, z/OS UNIX, z/XDC, Windows, UNIX
