Purpose:
The Sr Manager, Global Compliance Technology is responsible for driving the technology governance strategy and implementation across Compliance. While working closely with internal partners, the individual will define, implement, and monitor compliance against industry leading technology governance practices and data management capabilities, in alignment with enterprise strategic priorities, business line priorities and regulatory requirements.
Accountabilities:
- Responsible for managing a set of tasks and techniques among various stakeholders to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization in order to analyze, communicate, and validate IT and business requirements for change to business processes, polices, and information technology systems.
- Support the implementation of the technology framework across Compliance to meet enterprise, business and regulatory priorities.
- Lead the implementation of the organizational structures and operating models needed to support the objectives of the technology program
- Lead the long-range strategy planning, IT/Business roadmap alignment and management of policy development addressing complex business issues and the strategic priorities of the supported lines of business
- Independently resolve highly complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs of the end users
- Recommend technical / business solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals
- Apply expert financial and technological knowledge to the design of methodologies, models, and/or systems solutions.
- Manage major, multi-disciplinary projects to implement solutions to business problems including planning, securing, and scheduling resources
- Oversee the defining of business requirements, processes and preparation of business case proposals
- Oversee the development of testing, conversion, and implementation strategies
- Oversee the development of detailed project plans, the monitoring of progress against planned objectives, the financial review, and securing consensus and co-operation from users and senior management
- Direct and ensure a high level of steady state production support
- Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of both the Bank’s and the Division’s business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions, services and support to the end user business lines.
- Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
- Build a high performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Education / Experience / Other Skills
- Hold a relevant and recognized degree and proven IT experience with an emphasis on highly complex systems/business initiatives
- +7 years of work experience in Banking / Financial / IT Industry
- Demonstrated information management and quantitative skills, including working knowledge of IT infrastructure, various technologies/platforms, and aligned vendor solutions with enterprise strategic priorities
- Understanding of organizational design and the ability to shape and drive large-scale, cross-functional programs around people, technology, processes, and tools
- Demonstrated ability to balance long-term strategy with quick wins
- Demonstrated ability for strategic influencing and education of cross-functional stakeholders about the strategic importance and value of technology governance
- Proven leadership skills working with multi-disciplinary project groups
- Ability to work on complex projects independently, within tight deadlines, adapts to changing deadlines and delivers materials. Excellent organizational skills are required to manage multiple and concurrent deliverables
- Ability to learn and adapt to rapidly changing regulatory and business environments
