Your mandate
Reporting to the Manager, Communication and Internal Engagement, as a Senior Specialist, Internal Engagement & Diversity, you will be responsible for elaborating and implementing communications tools, activities, and initiatives to engage staff, promote T&I, and lead the Diversity and Inclusion portfolio within T&I. As part of the Internal Engagement Team, you will be responsible and accountable to elaborate effective programming to help foster an inclusive and diverse culture within the department in order to deliver on T&I’s’ Diversity and Inclusion commitments. This position will be based in Ottawa, Toronto or Montreal.
Your main responsibilities
Identify strategic approaches to Diversity and Inclusion within T&I that support the departmental and corporate priorities and translate into a project with a complete project plan, deliverables and results;
Conceive, elaborate and implement programs that engage employees and help to foster a more inclusive and diverse culture at T&I; you will also monitor the efficacy and impacts of these and adjusts as required;
Strategically select and employ various key communication channels to support initiatives and programs;
Create compelling and impactful imagery and graphics to support all internal communications and program activities;
Monitor and track analytics and data to support reporting on relevant initiatives;
Help foster an inclusive and diverse culture within the department and actively monitors the Corporation’s Diversity and Inclusion commitments to ensure T&I is aligned with corporate commitments and delivers on it’s own;
Provide support and advice to clients and partners with regard to external representation; and create and implement communications tools and packages to promote T&I image and visibility in engagement and outreach events;
Actively contribute to the development of materials associated with the creation of key programs to establish and promote T&I as a desirable work community, including, but not limited to, onboarding, internships, recruitment, etc.;
Employ a defined and consistent T&I voice to position how T&I is recognised and represented within the Corporation and externally;
Represent T&I at Diversity and Inclusion committees and related internal events;
Qualifications
What you bring to the team:
Post-secondary degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations or Humanities.
5-7 years experience in a communications advisor role;
Excellent knowledge and understanding of diversity in Canada;
Strong understanding of business challenges related to Canadian multiculturalism;
Bilingual (French and English) with strong verbal and written communication skills
Have a proven track record in developing and implementing diversity and inclusion programs, activities and initiatives
Enjoy working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders (internal and external) and understand the concepts of collective responsibility and ownership
Be self-motivated, a strategic thinker and an idea-generator.
Have the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Hold a high client service orientation, with demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients (internal and external)
