Mission

Our structural team is looking for a senior technician with good analytical skills and practical knowledge of REVIT and AutoCAD software, in order to deliver various building engineering projects. The senior technician’s primary responsibility will consist of supervising junior technicians, while carrying out structural projects through active participation in the design, and production of drawings in compliance with CIMA+’s high-level standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the design, and the preparation of drawings and specifications
• Prepare structural construction drawings
• Ensure compliance with the quality assurance system provisions
• Solve technical problems requiring research and in-depth analysis
• Develop and prepare structural models and drawings with REVIT and AutoCAD software (wood, steel, and reinforced concrete frameworks)
• Ensure coordination with other disciplines (architecture, electromechanical and civil engineering)
• Supervise and coach junior technicians
• Carry out design and deliverable reviews
• Carry out field surveys
• Provide technical assistance to site supervisors
• Help verify workshop drawings

Profile

• Technical training in civil engineering, architecture, or an equivalent
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in commercial, institutional, residential, and industrial structures
• At least five years of relevant experience in the Canadian market
• Advanced practical knowledge of REVIT and AutoCAD software
• Experience in building structural drawing
• Knowledge of codes and standards governing structural design
• Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) – an asset
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
• Command of the French language (spoken and written)
• Command of the English language (spoken and written) – an asset
