Why is this role important?

Collaborating with CIHI’s business areas, our team develops and manages products that deliver comparable and actionable information to accelerate improvements in health care, health system performance, and population health across the continuum of care. As part of a project team, you will research new technologies and methods, develop improvements to our systems, and create new solutions to complex problems.

What you’ll do

End-to-end delivery of valuable software systems that satisfy our users’ needs

Understand the needs and expectations of our end-users

Assist in the development of recommendations and plans

Collaborate in the design of solutions

Research and apply new development tools

Automate existing system processes to increase efficiency of products operations

Automate testing and monitoring of existing and new system solutions

Analyse and generate solutions to resolve software design and program deficiencies/problems in existing or new systems

Provide active coverage for team members

Demonstrate accountability for team’s work

What you’ll bring to the table

University Degree or equivalent education/experience in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline

2-5 years of experience as a software developer

Experience working with software development life cycle tools and processes

Experience working with Java, Spring, Web Services, REST, SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, Maven, CI, git, RDBMS (Oracle), JBOSS/Tomcat, Linux/Windows

Basic Qualifications

University Degree or equivalent education/experience in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline

2-5 years of experience as a software developer

Experience working with software development life cycle tools and processes
