Job Description:

We are adding a Sr. Construction Project Manager to our Canada Integrated Project Delivery Team to support Design/Build transportation projects in the Canada region, including finalization of a major highway design build JV in Ontario. We are looking for a great leader to join our team; one that inspires loyalty and commitment, with experience in both the design and construction execution process to lead technical teams in the Canada region. This position is currently project based on our Mississauga project office. Parsons is following Ontario and Federal Health Authority directives and there may be times where these directives will require that employees work remotely.

In this technically focused role, you will be responsible for design and construction coordination, technical management support, quality management support, subcontract administration, project controls, preconstruction coordination and construction project management. You will be expected to support the bid manager in proposals and be a direct liaison to the client and partners during project/construction execution. Additional responsibilities could include hiring/staffing and working with the engineering and scheduling resources to ensure the design schedule will meet construction milestones.

Other responsibilities include:

On the current project, this individual also performs the role of Structures Manager and is the lead senior manager for Parsons having top management decision making responsibilities on the project. Strong heavy civil structures experience is required as well as proven relevant management skills.

Ongoing interaction with the design team to ensure engineering optimization of the design and prioritization of the design work.

Participate in design development reviews, construction planning and scheduling, subcontractor management, and direct management of field staff.

Review/update the construction Management plan, and construction quality plan.

May represent the design build contractor at client meetings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar discipline.

Minimum of 15+ years of construction and project experience in the transportation infrastructure sector. Must have in depth understanding of design and construction processes for transportation projects. Experience must include design/management experience of a large engineering team, as well as project management delivery experience on heavy civil transportation infrastructure projects (Rail/Transit, Road/Highway, or Bridge/Tunnel).

Must have a proven track record of successful delivery in design/build project executions and/or GEC for projects valued at $100M in construction cost or higher.

Proven experience successfully managing design-build teams of 50+ people.
