Position Summary:
The Finance Student is responsible for providing exceptional support to the Supply Trading and Refining team in the financial department of Parkland, for the 8-month term. As a member of the Finance team, you will assist with the day-to-day activities including, billing, and processing of product transactions, Validate pricing and volumes; follow-up with internal teams and counterparties to resolve any discrepancies. The Finance student will work closely with the traders, logistics and analysts to ensure correct settlements. The Finance student will also be responsible for providing support on special projects as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and processing billing of product transactions.
- Collaborating with traders, logistics and analysts to ensure settlements are correct.
- Validating pricing and volumes; following up with internal teams and counterparties to resolve discrepancies.
- Provide support on special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- You are available for a 8-month term beginning on or around January of 2023
- You are currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution working towards a bachelor’s degree with a focus on Accounting or Finance, or a related discipline; the candidate must be in the 2nd year of their program.
- You have exceptional interpersonal skills and possess natural leadership as demonstrated in academic and/or extracurricular activities
- You have highly developed verbal and written communication skills to enable you to thrive in a challenging and exciting work environment
- You are a creative and analytical thinker with some project management skills who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- You have tenacity and an entrepreneurial spirit, and are passionate about seeking out win-win solutions
- You demonstrate professionalism and approachability as a brand ambassador to our internal and external stakeholders.
- You have strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint as well as experience with visual design tools (ie: Canva).
- You will be part of a global team and must be able to work effectively through a high degree of collaboration and communication through in-person meetings and video conferences.
