About this opportunity:
The Quality Engineering Intern will support the Mississauga site, working directly with the immediate supervisor and team members. Initially, the Intern will work under close supervision and receive detailed instructions on all work assignments. As proficiency in the tasks is achieved, the Intern will be given increased autonomy and more complex duties. This is a dynamic role where Interns will be encouraged to explore areas of interest and develop their skills through various side projects and new initiatives. The Intern will gain a comprehensive understanding of the organization from both engineering and business perspectives.

Activities:
- Provide quality support to production, inspection and other departments as required.
- Participate in resolving customer, supplier, and internal quality issues promptly and efficiently.
- Participate in product quality improvements, and monitoring and reporting quality performance.
- Participating in Product Quality Planning: identifying critical product quality requirements, potential risk areas, and ensuring appropriate measures are in place.
- Improving manufacturing process quality by identifying weaknesses, and participating in improvement efforts.
- Participate in regular internal quality review meetings.
- Perform root cause analysis and perform corrective action for internal and external reported defects.
Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
- Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc).

Education: Currently enrolled in University Internship/Co-op program, completing 3rd year of a 4-year Engineering program.
