This position term will begin in May 2021 for approximately 4 months.

The successful candidate will report to the SVP, General Counsel, Securities and Corporate Secretary.

What you will do:

  • Assist the legal department with matters as needed, including legal research and writing, and document preparation in a wide variety of legal areas, including corporate law, corporate governance law, labor and employment, securities law, integrity matters, pension and benefits, cybersecurity and privacy law, administrative and contract law
  • Assist with confidential internal investigations
  • Assist with internal policy preparation, review, and revision
  • Assist with preparation, development, and deployment of employee training on legal and integrity matters, including in-person/live training and online training
  • Assist with the Company’s Integrity Program
  • Assisting in providing legal support on procurement matters including contract review and refining standardized terms and conditions for contracts
  • Assist with dispute resolution and litigation matters including drafting demand letters and reviewing pleadings
  • Work with in-house counsel to review and comment on contracts
  • Assist counsel with advising clients as needed
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines

What you will bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a university or college law program, working toward a Juris Doctor designation
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale (or equivalent) is preferred
  • Competence in standard Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced, busy legal environment
  • Ability to maintain a cooperative working relationship with the members of the Legal Department as well as the business units served by the Legal Department
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
  • Familiarity with administrative law rules regarding procedural fairness in internal investigations is a preference
  • Prior work or volunteer experience in a professional setting considered an asset
