Position Overview:
In this role you will lead the Component Manufacturing Process Engineering team, responsible for the manufacture, quality, and compliance of Fluidpacks and Tape Gaskets used in i-STAT cartridges.
Responsibilities:
Develop Component Manufacturing technical expertise amongst the team in order to effectively support manufacturing operations as well as external projects and investigations. Develop clear process engineering responsibilities and accountability to drive quality, stability, and efficiency within the manufacturing operation.
Ensure timely resolution of QRs and CAPAs. Ensure process and equipment changes are validated and/or verified according to current quality standards.
Build a culture of quality, stability, and predictability through the establishment of PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Monitoring, and Error detection/proofing, and Escape Prevention.
Establish an organizational climate conducive to maximizing employee potential and productivity and retention of key personnel, encourage a team approach to work and problem solving. Foster a culture of data driven and systematic problem resolution, where the simplest and most robust solution are of primary focus.
Motivates employees through interpersonal interactions and personal example on a regular basis. Mentoring, fostering creativity and innovation, delegation and empowerment, providing opportunity to learn, positive reinforcement, goal setting, sharing relevant engineering and company information and providing ongoing feedback.
Lead staff meetings that review current results and identify and plan for overcoming upcoming challenges. Ensure staff are assigned to the most important issues or project.
Set team goals to align with the Assembly management group.
Required Education and Experience:
The minimum level of education to perform this job competently is completion of a University (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree) program in the specialized field of study or equivalent work experience.
Six to ten years of related work experience incorporating continuous learning.
Ability to handle a large amount of work efficiently and effectively.
Proven record of setting and achieving aggressive objectives for oneself and others.
Acquiring and retaining knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience.
Emphasizing corporate mission, values, and long-term goals rather than short-term objectives or perspectives.

Represent Component Manufacturing as subject matter expert at daily huddles, SLT reviews, manufacturing audits, and manufacturing tours.
Experience working in an FDA 21 CFR and ISO 13485 compliant environment.
Familiarity with any of the following areas would be an asset: automated assembly processes, machine vision system, seal and adhesion technology, product packaging, risk management/FMEA methods, root cause analysis, Solidworks and statistical software packages such as Minitab and SAS JMP.
