The Team Medicine Assistant is a permanent full-time position open to Veterinary Assistants, Client Service Representatives and Technicians. Hours of work are 35-40 hours per week, weekdays, evenings and weekends on rotation. This position reports directly to the Client Service Manager.

Responsibilities

The team medicine assistant works with general practice veterinarians in all aspects relating to patient care. The team medicine assistant will work in the exam room with the veterinarian acquiring detailed medical history and educating clients on a variety of preventative diseases, routine care and dietary options.

Follow-up phone calls to assess patient’s recovery from surgery, illness, dietary changes, or medication tolerances are critical and are the responsibility of the team medicine assistant. Organizing the flow of the day, responding to client inquiries, and keeping track of pending and completed laboratory tests will be orchestrated by the team medicine technician.

Qualifications

Required

Excellent client service skills; Fluent in English (Reading, Writing and Oral) Able to support patients up to 50kg and lift up to 25kg. Previous experience in client education related to preventative medicine, vaccine protocols, nutrition, etc.

Preferred

Fluently bilingual in French and English (Reading, Writing and Oral). 2 years experience in client service.
