The Technical Architect’s role is to strategically architect the roadmap of our current enterprise-level applications and infrastructure and our plans to evolve them. This role will be responsible for defining and maintain standards and best practices

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

STRATEGY AND PLANNING

  • Contribute to a team that supports an enterprise approach to technology portfolio management.
  • Recommend improvements in current state architecture to increase cost effectiveness while ensuring quality outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver long-term strategic goals for applications and infrastructure architecture vision and standards.
  • Advise and assist business stakeholders in aligning with enterprise architecture standards & principles.
  • Participate in project teams to advise and plan the architecture of new business initiatives
  • Promote reusability, interoperability, use of shared resources and services, flexibility and agility of the business solutions.
  • Develop, document and maintain target state architectures across application, data, network and other infrastructure domains to align with business strategy and priorities.
  • Develop roadmaps to reflect priority initiatives to progress towards corporate target outcomes.
  • Research and identify training required to support the operations of the road mapped initiatives.
  • Coordinate and work with other technical staff to develop systems architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.

OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT

  • Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current architecture.
  • Evaluate systems, operations, and security models for vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Mentor and/or provide leadership to junior members of the team.
  • Assess and determine governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing the organization’s technology.
  • Develop and promote industry management methodologies and standards.
  • Address general problems regarding systems integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integration.
  • Act as a leader and advocate of enterprise systems lifecycle management.
  • Document systems architecture and environment to maintain a current and accurate view of the larger technology landscape.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for applications and infrastructure reuse, migration, or retirement.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Strong understanding of systems modeling, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis.
  • Experience with business processing modeling techniques.
  • Experience in implementing enterprise system management processes, procedures, and decision support.
  • Demonstrated expertise with applications and infrastructure life cycle methodologies.
  • Experience with business requirements analysis, systems modeling & design.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent technical architecture and technical support documentation skills.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to research database issues, standards, and products as required.
  • Ability to present ideas in user friendly language.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
