The impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together
As a Technology Architect in Metadata Management, you’ll contribute to the development and enhancement of TELUS’ Data Governance Platform and Metadata Repository Program and will help advance TELUS’ Metadata Repository content, maturity and adoption.
Be a trusted technical expert and collaborate with various business units and demonstrate thought leadership while sitting at the intersection between business value, technology and data to ensure TELUS’ metadata repository is of the highest quality and standards providing a one stop shop for all information needs about TELUS’ data assets.
An agile mindset and approach to things is required as we are a small team that needs to be extremely adaptable given that we support all aspects of the Center of Excellence’s practice.
Here’s How
- Create and maintain high quality metadata within the Enterprise Metadata Repository (DGC), supported by technical and business data SMEs to ensure the necessary level of detail is provided
- Proactively reach out to and collaborate with technical and business SMEs for the data in scope
- Help create, design and enable a records retention policy, data domain classifications, security classifications and other metadata as the scope requires
- Record and document relationships between data assets and business terms
- Help keep enterprise metadata standards & best practices up to date, based on industry and field trends
- Actively monitor and maintain metadata up to quality standards
- Meet with metadata content stakeholders to ensure metadata capabilities are maintained (glossaries, catalogs reference data and others)
- Be an advocate for Data management and governance best practices
- Develop communication platforms and maintain metadata sites, tools and repositories and their design, development and management
- Help with DGC user training and onboarding activities
- Support business users help-desk
Qualifications
You are the missing piece of the puzzle (Skills & Knowledge)
- You are a recognized expert in data architecture and Metadata management best practices and the Data Management Lifecycle and have a strong understanding of governance processes and their administration
- Working knowledge of Data Governance and Data Management practices
- You are sought out for your knowledge of database technologies, reporting tools and APIs
- You are knowledgeable of DGC and its UI
- You are a systems, data and metadata documentation specialist
- You bring strong communication, branding, presentation, marketing and problem solving skills to the table
- You are versed in Project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, keep track of them and know when to follow-up or escalate matters
Great-to-Haves
- University degree in computer science or a related field
- Working experience in Information Management
- Collibra University Certification
- Knowledge of the DAMA international BOK Framework and its application
- PMP certification
- Fluency in speaking, reading and writing French
