Position Overview: Reporting to the Digital Services Supervisor, Performance Solutions, the Technology Planner will execute on the roadmap developed together with the department. The Planner will work directly with the branches to plan and execute customer installs, hardware replacements and firmware updates.

The role will assist with collaborating between different groups internally and manage the flow of products from order to delivery. In this fast-paced role, you require to be a strong leader to rapidly achieve wide scale planning to enable the technology-based services and solution business and offerings applicable across Finning.

Job Description:

Work with customers to manage the scheduling of installation, activation, subscribing, commissioning and training:

  • Responsible for determining the number of activities needed to be planned, and the communication of this information to the Branches required to execute work
  • Enable technology solutions to support our Customer Value Agreements and customer technology needs
  • Work with the branches to assess capabilities and availability

Define and execute the detailed installation schedule:

  • Work with Finning Canada service excellence to understand current services processes and leverage these to achieve connectivity targets
  • Reporting of all Customers and the progress of the Implementation projects
  • Collaborate with peers in Finning UK and Finning South America to maximize the global solution
  • Build a process to notify business areas of the incoming service work required
  • Work in conjunction with the business to implement solutions to ensure objectives are met for installation, commissioning, support, and upgrades of equipment as part of Finning’s Bold Goals
  • Accountable for ensuring the correct parts for the installations of equipment are on order, in stock and allocated to the appropriate branches

Communicating with Caterpillar:

  • Communicating with Caterpillar as it relates to any issues associated with Technology
  • Follow-up on parts orders as well as parts returns
  • Understand and provide information for warranty purposes
  • Plan future parts and kits orders

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (Business, Project Management and Supply Chain)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of operations, project management or supply chain
  • Experience in a related business environment
  • Knowledge of various office programs MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of various office programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and other programs which include Adobe, Lawson, Saleslink and Caterpillar applications including SIMSi.
  • Project Management Skills – Planning and Executing of Projects
