KPMG Technology Risk Consulting has an exciting opportunity for a Student Intern, to join our team in Summer 2022! This role will be a rewarding experience if you:

Note: You will be given the opportunity to select your function of interest (Audit, Tax, Advisory or Digital) while completing the application questionnaire. What you will do

  • Conduct assessments of IT risks and controls in support of our external audit engagements.
  • Perform other engagements within the context of supporting the external audit, IT internal audit or attestation engagements such as CSAE 3416 / SSAE 18 Service Organization Control (SOC) audits and assessment of System Under Development controls in large transformation projects.
  • Develop & utilize technical and industry knowledge to resolve complex client challenges and consult on leading practice technology enabled solutions
  • Identify issues / challenges and provide recommendations, opportunities and mitigation strategies to client personnel
  • Build long-term business relationships with client teams and executives through engagement delivery and networking in professional organizations
  • Participate in business development by taking an active role in the business community to increase awareness of the firm’s services and level of commitment to the local market, developing and maturing relationships with internal staff and clients, and assisting with proposal development.

What you bring to the role

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and behaviors:

  • Ability to obtain Government of Canada security clearance
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited univeristy or college degree program.
  • Aspiration to pursue relevant audit or accounting designation(s) (e.g. CPA, CISA, CISSP, CRISC)
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organization and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, professional maturity, and demonstrated ability to effectively interact and build relationships with a diverse group of clients and colleagues.

Recent government or private organization experience is an asset
