Corporate Services is at the centre of the action, providing the support that enables Bell’s industry leadership. Our Corporate Security & Responsibility, Communications, Human Resources, Procurement & Value Creation and Real Estate teams work collaboratively to drive our corporate strategy forward.
Within Corporate Services is Bell’s Threat Intelligence (CTI) team, which identifies, tracks, and analyzes cyber threats facing the BCE family of companies. To support this mission, the Corporate Security Threat Intelligence Team is looking for an experienced geek who has a love of coding, playing with software and tools, and wrangling data to build out solutions to better detect threats against Bell. Our team goes through the vast amounts of data in a typical day and the ideal candidate will work to find ways to do it better, faster, and more efficient. They also will have an understanding of threats to help build our own original intelligence through the development of tools, scripts, data science techniques, and machine learning models to harvest intelligence from Bell data. Thus, ideal candidate has a good blend of data engineering, data analysis, code development, and knowledge of the cutting edge open source toolsets relating to threats intelligence, hunting, and detection.
In short, for this position we are looking for a specialist in code development, data analysis, and data science.
Ideally, the candidate with a good blend of some or all of following skills & experience
- Must have Python 3 (scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, among other libraries) and PySpark (mllib, mlflow, etc.) experience.
- Should have experience with Cloudera or Cloudera Workbench (CDSW)
- Experience with streaming Technology (Kafka, Flink, Storm, Spark, Spark-Streaming);
- Experience with the installation and configuration of common, open source packages from GitHub, via Docker, or the variety of other of bleeding edge but trusted sources.
- Experience with a variety of data technologies, such as ELK, Hadoop, Splunk, etc.
- Experience with data engineering – assessing data to find errors and omissions and variances, producing code to clean the data, dealing with missing, incomplete, or incorrect data, transform the data into appropriate format and ensure the quality of data.
- Experience with Data Science visualization techniques and Machine Learning Modeling.
And equally important are soft skills
- Passionate about the importance of security, and a desire to collaborate with colleagues who need your expertise.
- Have a love of technology as not only a job but a hobby as well.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and execute in a methodical and disciplined manner, including a proven track record of successfully managing and executing on short term and long-term projects.
- The ability to think quickly but methodically, to design and implement potentially non-traditional solutions.
- Ability to work across a cross functional and distributed team of engineers, data scientists, security researchers, and analysts to deliver new capabilities and reporting.
Other beneficial qualifications including
- Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or Computer Science or the equivalent in years of experience.
- Existing Secret clearance or ability to obtain is an asset; The successful candidate must successfully go through background verifications including but not limited to criminal record and reputational checks
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
