VCA Canada Calgary North Animal Hospital &24 Hour Emergency Service has an opportunity for an experienced and dedicated Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to join our team as a Team Lead. You will have an opportunity to use your skills to the fullest potential while sharing your leadership and goals with others.

As a member of the VCA team, your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent-by delivering an outstanding client experience-so they will partner with us for the lifelong care of their companion animals. The RVT Team Lead will also work closely with the hospitals leadership team to promote a positive hospital image and continuously work towards betterment of the hospital. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work efficiently on your own and with the team. Additional duties and responsibilities include;

• Registered Veterinary Technician or eligible to register
• Implement process and oversee coordination of patient records, patient communication and patient appointments
• Creating an equitable schedule for the team and coordinating vacation coverage
• Attend regular meetings with your General Manager to review schedules, team info, patient files, processes, areas for improvement
• Technical skills; venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, physical examinations and patient assessment, dentistry, nutrition and pharmacy
• Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery
• Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records
• Compassionate care for our hospitalized patient
• Ability to mange multiple priorities simultaneously
• Ability to problem solve
• Excellent communication skills
