The United Way of Winnipeg is seeking a Vice-President, Finance, and Internal Services (VP) to join their passionate and committed team.
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President, Finance and Internal Services will collaborate with volunteers and staff to ensure United Way Winnipeg remains trusted, accountable, efficient, and effective. They will provide strategic leadership to financial and risk management, as well as human resource management, organizational development, labour relations, privacy, facilities, and office administration.
As a member of the executive leadership team, the VP contributes to setting the organization’s strategic direction and will be a leader who has shown the capacity to be innovative and future-focused while delivering high quality service to internal and external stakeholders. The VP will work closely with the Board and be involved in a number of volunteer committees, working collaboratively with many of Winnipeg’s business and community leaders.
This is an excellent opportunity for a financial and administrative leader with strong business and financial acumen who can balance working at both strategic and detailed levels and can apply analytical thinking with creative and collaborative process improvement.
Position Overview:
- Guide the delivery of finance and accounting functions including budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial modelling, reporting, business case development, auditing and compliance processes, investment management, and procurement.
- Identify trends, establish benchmarks, and provide credible analysis and business recommendations.
- Identify and drive strategic initiatives with regards to recruitment, compensation, health & wellness, payroll, health & retirement benefit programs, performance management, employee engagement, learning & career development, and collective bargaining.
- Collaborate with colleagues and peers to create and foster a working environment that promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Provide strategic direction for United Way’s facilities maintenance including preventative maintenance programs, building component replacement plan, security, parking and maintaining a welcoming neighbourhood presence.
- Provide guidance, direction and leadership to a team comprised of a Director of Finance, a Director of Talent Management, and a Facilities Manager.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- 5-10 years’ experience in a senior leadership position with oversight of multiple portfolios and functions such as Finance and HR.
- Experience in building relationships and navigating complex stakeholder relations and engagement.
- Strong leadership experience with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, implementing those strategies and the ability to leverage technology to maximize business results.
- Open and inclusive communications skills and experience in communication and engagement with shareholders, communities, and partners.
- A commitment to the community and passion for the services that United Way delivers to Winnipeg.
