VP of Engineering (US/CA)

Job Overview

Job title: VP of Engineering (US/CA)

Job description: SEVEN GOOD REASONS

Why YOU want to be VP of Engineering at the world’s fastest-growing hospitality tech company.

CLOUDBEDS IS a technology company changing the hospitality landscape. It’s no surprise. Our company is growing by multiples because we provide an intuitive, one-stop business management platform for hoteliers long fed up with legacy software. The hospitality industry pumps more than a trillion dollars into the global economy every year, yet this industry is surprisingly overlooked by traditional tech companies. That’s why hospitality companies come to us. We’re already powering 20,000 properties: the world’s fastest-growing management suite for all property types and sizes. The Cloudbeds platform allows any lodging business to manage all aspects of their business on one screen. Simply put: Hoteliers can do a lot more with a lot less.

We’re hungry for leaders who can help us scale to meet voracious demand. Our new Vice President of Engineering will be instrumental in supporting our ongoing technology transformation. We’re moving from a monolithic architecture to a cutting-edge microservices topology. You will be a key player in driving this transformation. You will lead a team of 60+ individual contributor engineers in a company where ownership and teamwork are ingrained in the culture. We only hire stellar people: a talent bench that will boast at least 120 engineers by Q3 2023. You’ll also enjoy close collaboration with Jessie Zhang, our brilliant Head of Architecture, to drive the technical vision and build the most scalable, the most flexible, and the most secure platform in the hospitality space. And of course, you’ll team up with CEO Adam Harris and myself. But don’t take our word for it:

7 Good Reasons Why You Want To Be VP

  • Impact and Visibility. The VP of Engineering will have a seat at the table as a strategic partner and will report directly to Richard Castle: Co-founder, President, & COO.
  • Hypergrowth. This company has grown 100% YoY in ARR and has added 100+ employees in the last month alone. Cloudbeds is on track to grow headcount 4x and revenue 5x over the next 18 months. Approaching the SaaS Gold Standard of 100%+ Net Dollar Retention.
  • Mission. Cloudbeds strengthens critical businesses within local communities across the world, in one of the industries most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Technology & Industry Disruption. Cloudbeds is at the forefront of disrupting an entire industry. Our new VP will be at the center of developing a premier technology platform that revolutionizes how travel is managed for businesses and consumers.
  • Remote-First Work Pioneers. We hire the best people, anywhere. Cloudbeds’ global distributed workforce has been pioneering remote work since the company’s founding. We support flexible work schedules and an open Paid Time Away policy, giving all team members the opportunity to travel and work remotely while being part of a close-knit team.
  • CaaS: Culture as a Service. Ownership isn’t our buzzword; it’s our ethos. We own what we do, and we’re proud of it-from a minor commit to a major release. You can count on having a high-caliber team because that’s the only caliber we hire. We communicate across teams and divisions-no silos allowed. It’s rare to find a business where so many people start out as coworkers and end up as friends, but at Cloudbeds it’s common. It says a lot about a company that’s been all-remote since Day One.
  • Cloudbeds bleeds blue. Work here for a week and you’ll know what we mean when we say “Cloudbeds bleeds blue.” Today, that includes the yellow and blue of the Ukrainian flag. We stand united behind our Ukrainian teammates-many of them engineers who were with us from the start; who built the Cloudbeds platform from the ground up. Some of our friends have become soldiers, refugees, or citizens under fire, but one thing hasn’t changed. They work here. With full salaries, all the help we can give, and their virtual office ready for their return.

Let me sum it up. We believe the world is a better place when hoteliers and hosts spend less time on operational tasks, drive more revenue, and have the freedom to craft a next-generation guest experience for the next generation of explorers. To achieve this, we decentralize and empower: we give our engineers the freedom they need-and the credit they deserve-to craft next-gen SaaS solutions.

With you at the table, we’ll craft the next generation together.
