About the role

The student will participate as an active member of the Internal Research and Development (IRAD) Lab Support Team, performing system administration tasks including installation, configuration, maintenance and support of the software development lab environment.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Install, configure and maintain software developer computers and devices
  • Install, configure and maintain servers, network switches, SANs, and other infrastructure components
  • Install, configure and maintain virtual environment (VMware)
  • Review system alerts and log files, and take appropriate action when needed
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure technical issues
  • Document technical processes/procedures and maintain equipment
  • Work with vendors to address software and hardware issues
  • Provide assistance to software engineers on general technical issues.

What you bring to the role

  • Pursuing a diploma in Information Technology or related field.

Additional skills desired for the role

  • Technical knowledge of Linux, VMware vSphere, Windows Experience with a virtualized environment
  • Knowledge of infrastructure hardware: Server, Network switches (Cisco), Backup systems, etc.
  • Well organized, capable of planning, scheduling and prioritizing work
  • Aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
